Recovery codes
Recovery codes are one-time backup codes that get you in if you lose your authenticator app.
1Save them
When you enable two-factor authentication, Cognos shows 10 recovery codes once. Copy or download them and store them safely — they can't be shown again.
2Use one
On the code screen at sign-in, choose Use a recovery code instead and enter one. Each code works exactly once.
3Regenerate
From Security & keys you can regenerate the set (it needs your password and a current code). This cancels the old codes and signs out trusted devices.
